Nomination Title: Teresa Poggenpohl, Executive Director - Global Image

Describe for the judges the activities and accomplishments of the nominated executive during the eligibility period (up to 500 words):

With over twenty years of experience at Accenture – a $21.58 billion global
management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company – Teresa
Poggenpohl has had the opportunity to do many exciting things; spearhead the re-
branding from Andersen Consulting to Accenture, launch groundbreaking
advertising, live and work abroad, and collaborate with a dedicated team of
talented marketing professionals along the way. As Executive Director - Global
Image for Accenture, part of Marketing and Communications, Teresa is
responsible for shaping the company’s brand and position in the market in support
of the company’s strategic agenda, driving a powerful and consistent brand in the
global marketplace by differentiating Accenture competitively and managing the
company’s brand consistently. Her current responsibilities cover advertising, brand
management, internet marketing, marketing research and database marketing.

For six years Tiger Woods served as the centerpiece and metaphor for
Accenture’s successful High Performance Delivered advertising campaign.
Following a series of high-profile personal indiscretions by Tiger, on December 13,
2009, Accenture concluded that recent events had compromised his ability to
effectively deliver on the company’s advertising message.

Teresa’s key objective going forward was to get a new campaign in market – at
speed. Within one month from severing ties, under Teresa’s direction, a new
forward-thinking advertising campaign was created, tested and globally launched
that seamlessly continued to position Accenture as the partner of choice to help
companies achieve high performance.

Teresa has received wide recognition for her achievements including, “Who’s Who
in B-to-B 2009” and “Best Marketer” 2007-2009 by B-to-B Magazine and one of 15
marketers honored as a 2007 Internationalist of the Year by Internationalist
magazine.

Under Teresa, the Accenture brand has seen great success across other
measures, ranking #47 in the 2010 Interbrand 100 Best Global Brands. Accenture
also ranked #44 in the Financial Times 2010 BrandZ Top 100 ranking, with an
estimated value of almost $15B. Ms. Poggenpohl has also received multiple
recognitions for her success in driving the Accenture brand in the marketplace,
including B-to-B Magazine’s Best Marketer 2009, 2008 and 2007, along with
Who's Who in B-to-B 2009 and Internationalist Magazine’s 2007 Internationalist of
the Year award.

Teresa is a member of the organization's Marketing & Communications Leadership
Team, the executive team charged with managing Accenture's image and
marketing initiatives. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Accenture
Global Services, the holding company for Accenture trademarks and intellectual
property and the company’s Global Leadership Council.

Teresa has served numerous civic, community and professional organizations
including the Board of Directors for the Chicago Children’s Museum as well as
Marketing Committee chair and the Dean’s Business Council for the University of
Illinois College of Business. Teresa was the President of the Chicago chapter of
the Business Marketing Association from 2005 to 2006 where she remains a
Board member.

A native-Nebraskan, Teresa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business
Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and an MBA from the
University of Illinois-Champaign.
