Nomination Title: iHealthSpot, Inc.
Describe for the judges the activities and accomplishments of the nominated company during the eligibility period (up to 500 words):
Over 150 million Americans search for Health information online. In many cases, the information they find is tied to advertising or anecdotal and often inaccurate. Physicians are notoriously slow to adopt technology, but as patients become more web savvy and more interested in their own care, doctors must embrace the web as a vehicle to educate and communicate with patients.
iHealthSpot was born when CEO Mary Hall suffered an injury in a car accident and realized the abundance of medical misinformation that existed online and that not one of her physicians had a website. Further research led her to find that only 3 in 10 doctors had a website and in most cases, the site was poorly built and did little for the practice. iHealthSpot has quickly emerged as a leader that delivers a complete online marketing solution for physicians with features designed for the unique needs of healthcare practices. Since launch in January 2007, the company has built and hosts over 350 websites and not only provides stunning website design and personalized content but cutting edge tools for secure online communication with online appointment and prescription requests, online pre-registration, online bill payment and secure lab result reporting. The iHealthSpot solution also provides an easy content management tool, ezNetPublish™ which allows non- programmer personnel in the practice the ability to updates content themselves.
In addition, each website includes ongoing search engine optimization and marketing and physician developed patient education that is written in lay-friendly terms, complete with illustrations, video with 3D animations and hundreds of pages of written content that is plugged into the website and takes on its appearance. All of this is made available to doctors for a single monthly fee, making it easy and affordable to have a strong web presence. In just two years, iHealthSpot has built websites and has developed patient education in 30 different medical specialties.
The company has won four consecutive “www Health Awards” for excellence in online patient education, two eHealthcare Leadership awards for its e-business tools and a 2009 STEVIE in the Interactive Multimedia category for its “Orthopedic Patient Education”. In addition the company was voted one of the Top 25 Web Development companies in South Florida by the South Florida Business Journal. The company continues to experience rapid growth even in the face of tough economic times and employs a growing team of 30 professionals in its Ft. Lauderdale office.
As the need for online marketing tools expands, iHealthSpot has introduced new features to enhance the user experience on physician websites. These include search functions on every website, a “share” feature allowing for viral marketing, flash photo galleries, blogs, message boards, video players, email capture, online newsletters and RSS feeds. iHealthSpot also provides Pay Per Click advertising services and Social Media development for applications such as Facebook and Twitter. iHealthSpot has become a leading all Interactive service provider enhancing the doctor patient relationship and allowing for more effective communication and better quality of care. iHealthSpot is dedicated solely to the busy medical practice and has truly carved a niche in this growing market.
