Washington, DC -- NII Holdings, the Latin American marketer of the services of Reston-based Nextel Communications, has been named winner of the International Stevie Award for Best New Telecommunications Product or Service at the second annual International Business Awards. NII is being recognized for its International DirectConnect service. The other DC-area winner was Dan Cole, the vice president of sales for the Arlington- based Consumer Electronic Show, for Best Sales Executive. In all, 76 winners were announced in categories ranging from Best Multinational Company and Best New Product to Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program and Best Executive. Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word "crowned," the awards will be presented at a gala on May 19 in New York.
