          High Performance Technologies, Inc. (HPTi) achieved commendable success in 2008.
          The Virginia-based technology services company won several important new
          contracts and was honored with multiple awards, including the National Capital
          Business Ethics Award—a particularly satisfying accomplishment in a year when
          the business world contended with the far-reaching consequences of unethical
          behavior among corporations. HPTi also achieved its highest ever client
          satisfaction score—a rating of 94%.

          In addition to the Ethics Award, for the second year in a row, HPTi was the only
          company in Virginia to earn a Plaque for Progress in Performance Excellence from
          the U.S. Senate Productivity and Quality Award for Virginia. Based on the
          Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, this award recognizes companies for
          developing and executing outstanding business processes. HPTi also achieved CMMI
          Level 3 certification – a prestigious software development accreditation.

          HPTi’s quality performance was directly responsible for increases in the
          company’s net worth, book value, revenues, and profit. In 2008, revenues grew to
          $73.6 million, a 23% increase over 2007 (the industry average was only 14%).
          Profit increased by 14% in 2008 despite increased spending on business
          development and bidding activity. At year’s end, HPTi’s contract backlog was
          $291 million, almost 4 times 2008 revenue, which compares very favorably with
          the industry average of 2.3 times 2008 revenue and provides the firm with the
          stable revenue needed to finance future growth. In response, the Private Company
          Index used HPTi in its top-growth index in 2008. The company also moved up the
          list in its second year on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing privately held
          firms.

          The industry accolades did not stop with HPTi’s financial success. The firm was
          a recipient of the 16th Annual CARE (Companies As Responsive Employers) Awards,
          which recognize outstanding companies that provide family-friendly workplace
          policies and benefits. HPTi was also named one of DC’s Best Workplaces for
          Commuters, an honor HPTi has received every year since the award’s inception.
          Additionally, HPTi was a finalist for the GovCon Government Contractor of the
          Year (mid-sized firm), a finalist for Best Overall Company at the American

          Business Journal.

          As one of the firm’s co-founders, Timothy Keenan is president and CEO of HPTi.
          As part of his leadership philosophy, Tim always keeps an open door. His
          bi-weekly e-mails to the firm foster open communication, and he is constantly
          investing his time and energy into the firm’s culture. Outside of HPTi, he
          volunteers on university advisory boards, and he coaches youth sports. Tim was
          awarded the Stevie for Best Executive in 2007. That year, he was also honored
          with the highest individual award in government contracting: the GovCon Award
          for Best Executive.
