Categories

Any number of entries may be submitted to any number of the following categories. The same entry may be submitted to multiple categories, if appropriate.
     The eligibility period for 2011 entries extends from July 1, 2010.  Your entries should describe acheivements since that date.  The only exceptions to this rule are the Best New Company, Lifetime Achievement, and web site, blog and app categories - there is no eligibility timeframe period for these categories.

INDIVIDUAL CATEGORIES

Entries in these categories require
(a) An essay of up to 500 words describing the nominee's achievements since July 1, 2010
(b) A biography of the nominee (up to 100 words)
(c) Optional but highly recommended, you may provide the URLs of online news stories, press releases, product reviews, videos, images, etc. that support the nomination.

1. Best Entrepreneur – Service Businesses – up to 100 Employees (Professional, Financial, Real Estate, etc.): Recognizing individual women entrepreneurs for their achievements during the eligibility period.
2. Best Entrepreneur – Service Businesses – up to 2,500 Employees (Professional, Financial, Real Estate, etc.): Recognizing individual women entrepreneurs for their achievements during the eligibility period.

16. Best Executive – Non-Profit or Government – More than 2,500 Employees: Recognizing individual women executives for their accomplishments during the eligibility period.
17. Mentor or Coach of the Year: Recognizing the women who provided the best support and guidance to women in business during the eligibility period.
18. Lifetime Achievement Award: Recognizing the individual executive or entrepreneur who has achieved accomplishments of significance over her entire career. There is no eligibility period requirement for this category.
19. Best Canadian Entrepreneur: Recognizing individual women entrepreneurs in for their achievements during the eligibility period.
20. Best Canadian Executive: Recognizing individual women executives (not business owners) in Canada for their accomplishments during the eligibility period.
21. Best Entrepreneur in EMEA:  Recognizing individual women entrepreneurs in Europe, the Middle East , and Africa for their achievements during the eligibility period.
22. Best Executive in EMEA: Recognizing individual women executives (not business owners) in Europe, the Middle East , and Africa for their accomplishments during the eligibility period.
23. Best Asian Entrepreneur: Recognizing individual women entrepreneurs in Asia and for their achievements during the eligibility period.
24. Best Asian Executive: Recognizing individual women executives (not business owners) in Asia for their accomplishments during the eligibility period.
25. Best Latin American Entrepreneur: Recognizing individual women entrepreneurs in Mexico, Central and South America for their accomplishments during the eligibility period.
26. Best Latin American Executive: Recognizing individual women executives (not business owners) in Mexico, Central and South America for their accomplishments during the eligibility period.
27. Employee of the Year: Recognizing non-executive female employees for their accomplishments during the eligibility period. There is no entry fee for this category.

COMPANY/ORGANIZATION CATEGORIES

Organizations that meet one or both of the following criteria are eligible to be nominated in the Company/Organization categories:
(a) At least 50% of the shares in the organization are owned by women
(b) The CEO (or other principal manager) of the organization is a woman, and at least 40% of the management team is comprised of women.

Entries in these categories require
(a) An essay of up to 500 words describing the organization's achievements since July 1, 2010
(b) A biography of the CEO or leader of the nominated organization (up to 100 words)
(c) Optional but highly recommended, you may provide the URLs of online news stories, press releases, product reviews, videos, images, etc. that support the nomination.

28. Best Overall Company of the Year – Service Businesses – up to 100 Employees (Professional, Financial, Real Estate, etc.): Recognizing businesses owned or run by women for their accomplishments during the eligibility period.
29. Best Overall Company of the Year – Service Businesses – up to 2,500 Employees (Professional, Financial, Real Estate, etc.): Recognizing businesses owned or run by women for their accomplishments during the eligibility period.
30. Best Overall Company of the Year – Service Businesses – More Than 2,500 Employees (Professional, Financial, Real Estate, etc.): Recognizing businesses owned or run by women for their accomplishments during the eligibility period.
31. Best Overall Company of the Year - Non-Services Businesses – Up To 100 Employees (Manufacturing, Construction, Agriculture, etc.): Recognizing businesses owned or run by women for their accomplishments during the eligibility period.

34. Non-Profit or Government Organization of the Year - Up To 100 Employees: Recognizing the achievements of organizations run by or for women.
35. Non-Profit or Government Organization of the Year - Up To 2,500 Employees: Recognizing the achievements of organizations run by or for women.
36. Non-Profit or Government Organization of the Year - More Than 2,500 Employees: Recognizing the achievements of organizations run by or for women.
37. Most Innovative Company of the Year – Up to 100 Employees: Recognizing product and/or marketing, sales, manufacturing, management, etc. innovation at businesses owned or run by women during the eligibility period.
38. Most Innovative Company of the Year – Up to 2,500 Employees: Recognizing product and/or marketing, sales, manufacturing, management, etc. innovation at businesses owned or run by women during the eligibility period.
39. Most Innovative Company of the Year – More Than 2,500 Employees: Recognizing product and/or marketing, sales, manufacturing, management, etc. innovation at businesses owned or run by women during the eligibility period.
40 . Best New Company of the Year: Recognizing new businesses owned or run by women. All for-profit and non-profit businesses that began operations after July 1, 2009 are eligible to be nominated.
41 . Fastest-Growing Company of the Year: Recognizing businesses that are owned or run by women that demonstrated extraordinary growth in sales during the eligibility period from the year prior.
42. Employer of the Year: Recognizing excellence in hiring practices, human resources management, and employee relations. All for-profit and non-profit businesses owned or run by women are eligible to be nominated.
43 Technology Innovator of the Year: Recognizing women for their innovative use of technology in growing their businesses during the eligibility period.
44. “Women Helping Women” Award: Recognizing businesses and individuals who supported and contributed to the development of women in business during the eligibility period.
45. Community Involvement Program of the Year: Recognizing best practices in community involvement and corporate social responsibility activities during the eligibility period.

PRODUCT & SERVICE CATEGORIES

Products and services introduced to the marketplace since July 1, 2010, created by or for women, are eligible to be nominated this year.

Entries in these categories require
(a) An essay of up to 500 words describing the nominated product or service: its features, functions, benefits, and performance to date
(b) A biography of the leader of the team that developed the new product or service (up to 100 words)
(c) Optional but highly recommended, you may provide the URLs of online news stories, press releases, product reviews, product demonstration videos, images, etc. that support the nomination.

COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING CATEGORIES

Entries in these categories require
(a) An essay of up to 500 words describing the nominated campaign: its genesis, development, planning, commission, and performance to date.
(b) A biography of the leader of the team that developed the campaign (up to 100 words)
(c) Optional but highly recommended, you may provide the URLs of online news stories, press releases, product reviews, work samples, videos, images, etc. that support the nomination.

51. Communications or PR Campaign of the Year: Recognizing excellence in public relations, press relations, and publicity programs by or for women during the eligibility period.
         a. Community Relations: campaigns/programs that aim to improve relations with communities in which the sponsoring organization has an interest, need or opportunity.
         b. Crisis Communications: campaigns/programs undertaken to deal with an unplanned event and requiring immediate response.
         c. Global Issues: campaigns/programs that demonstrate effective global communications implemented in at least two countries.
         d. Issues Management: campaigns/programs undertaken to deal with issues that could extraordinarily affect ongoing business strategy.
         e. Low Budget (under $10,000/
7000): campaigns/programs that cost no more than $10,000/7000 to plan and implement.
         f. Marketing – Business to Business: campaigns/programs designed to introduce new products or promote existing products or services to a business audience.
         g. Marketing – Consumer Products: campaigns/programs designed to introduce new products or promote existing products to a consumer audience.
         h. Marketing – Consumer Services: campaigns/programs designed to introduce new services or promote existing services to a consumer audience.
         i. Multicultural: campaigns/programs specifically targeted to a cultural group.
         j. Reputation/Brand Management: campaigns/programs designed to enhance, promote or improve the reputation of an organization with its publics or key elements of its publics.
         k. Public Affairs: campaigns/programs specifically designed to influence public policy and/or affect legislation, regulations, political activities or candidacies.
         l. Public Service: campaigns/programs that advance public understanding of societal issues, problems or concerns.
         m. Social Media Focused: campaigns/programs designed to be implemented primarily through online social media.     

52. Marketing Campaign of the Year: Recognizing excellence in marketing by or for women during the eligibility period.
         a. Consumer Advertising Campaign of the Year
         b. Consumer Marketing Campaign of the Year
         c. Mobile Marketing Campaign of the Year
         d. Online Marketing Campaign of the Year
         e. Retail/Merchandising Marketing Campaign of the Year
         f. Small-Budget Marketing Campaign of the Year (<$3 million/
€2 million)
         g. Viral Marketing Campaign of the Year

MEDIA CATEGORIES

Entries in these categories require
(a) An essay of up to 100 words describing the nominated work: its purpose and results to date. Include in this section the URL of the work itself.
(b) Optionally, you can provide creative and production credits for the work, such as writers, creative directors, and programmers.

55. Website of the Year: Recognizing excellence in web sites created and maintained by or for women. There is no eligibility period requirement for this category.
56 . Blog of the Year: Recognizing excellence in individual or company blogs created by or for women. There is no eligibility period requirement for this category.
57. Smartphone or Tablet App of the Year: Recognizing excellence in smartphone and tablet apps produced by or for women. There is no eligibility period requirement for this category.
58. Video of the Year: Recognizing excellence in videos produced by or for women during the eligibility period.
