Nomination Category: Corporate Literature Categories / Publication Awards
Nomination Sub Category: Best House Organ - For General Audience

Nomination Title: Ludwig van Beethoven Associations's Beethoven Magazine

How many times was this house organ published since January 1, 2008?:

Beethoven Magazine was first distributed in March 2009. It is a free quarterly
publication in a bilingual version, distributed in all philharmonic halls and
operas in Poland, during all major classical music festivals in the country and
in various institutions abroad.

Briefly describe this entry's communications objectives and how it met those objectives (up to 100 words):

The aim of the publication is to promote classical music and to attract new
audiences to classical concerts. Beethoven Magazine was created in consultation
with the Polish Ministry of Culture considering the recent drastic decline of
interest with classical music. The editors engage prominent opinion leaders,
major Polish critics, painters and photographers, who, using simple language
and attractive form present historical background and values of classical
music, conveying at the same time the notion of its versatility and
contemporary relevance. The publication met with a great interest and a highly
positive feedback from the recipients, both regular and new audiences.
