Tell the story about what this nominated company achieved (up to 500 words). Focus on specific accomplishments, and relate these accomplishments to past performance or industry norms. Be sure to mention obstacles overcome, innovations or discoveries made, and outcomes:
ActionCOACH is the world leader in business and executive coaching as well as Australia’s largest franchise export. The company began in 1993 in a small room in a suburb of Brisbane, Australia, when founder & CEO Brad Sugars began teaching business owners how to grow their sales and increase their sales and marketing results.
For its first four years, the company was based purely around the seminars and business coaching services provided by Mr. Sugars. With limits on his time and endurance, Mr. Sugars and ActionCOACH made the decision to franchise in 1997.
Since then, ActionCOACH has expanded rapidly, and with its global headquarters now based in Las Vegas, Nevada. ActionCOACH’s franchisees and Master Franchisees (Master Licensees) are now located in 26 countries with more than 1,000 offices worldwide.
ActionCOACH is currently ranked the number one business coaching firm in the world, as well as one of the top 100 global franchises and one of the top 25 home-based franchises by Entrepreneur magazine. In 2009, ActionCOACH made the Top 50 Franchises (Large Systems) with a ranking of #17, and received the coveted Franchisee Satisfaction Award conducted by US-based Franchise Business Review (FBR). Companies in the Top 50 were ranked on confidential survey responses in the areas of training and support, the franchise system, the franchisor relationship and financial opportunity.
Most recently, the editors of AllBusines.com (a Dun & Bradstreet company) researched, compiled and analyzed more than 700 franchise systems to create a list of the “Best of Best” franchises for 2009. With a ranking of #71, ActionCOACH was awarded inclusion in the 2009 “AllBusiness AllStar Franchises” list. Not only is the list regarded as one of the most transparent and interactive rankings of its kind, it is also the only list that draws primarily on the in-depth financial analysis of Dun and Bradstreet.
These achievements reflect the company’s vision of “World Abundance through Business Re-education.” Because small-to-medium sized businesses (SMBs) are the backbone of market-based world economies – and because statistics show that one third of all businesses fail in the first five years – the negative impact on GDP and job losses caused by business failure is considerable. To confront this issue, ActionCOACH’s goal is to have a “coach in every business” to reverse these statistics. Not only would that rate of success impact the wealth of the individual business owner, it would also positively impact the financially well-being of the owner’s employees and of the community in which the business operates.
Each year, a conservative estimate is that an ActionCOACH Business Coach will positively impact 20 SMBs. By the end of 2009, ActionCOACH will help 23,200 businesses around the world achieve their goals.
In the next five years, based on current growth rates, ActionCOACH will help at least 164,000 business owners around the world survive and thrive. With the current economic slowdown, SMBs have been adversely affected, but ActionCOACH has shown continuing and positive growth, a fact that validates the importance of this business service.
