Tansu Yegen took the position of life:)'s CEO in February 2007. He has shifted from IT business and had never before worked for telecom company. Moreover he took the offer to work in Ukraine without even visiting the country a single time - he was so eager to change his career and try a new industry, especially in a new GSM company on a highly competitive market. life:) is an investment of the Turkish GSM market leader Turkcell, it started its operations in Ukraine in 2005. By that time there had already been 2 very strong players on the market with over 10 brands operating. From the very start experts were sceptical as to life:)'s success due to high competition and the fact that other companies built their networks & businesses for decades.

In Q3 2007 the company reached postive EBITDA 1,5 year before the business plan. For the whole 2007 life:) had been the market leader in net additions demonstarting the highest growth rates not only of the subscriber base but of the ARPU (average revenue per user) despite the market trends for ARPU decrease. life:)'s ARPU grew by 68.4% during the year. The company tested 3G connection and launched a number of successful partnerships with IT leaders for the sake of providing its users with convergent solutions - Microsoft, Palm, Adobe and others. In November 2007 life:) announced about its plans to launch an ethnical MVNO in Italy where there are around 800 000 Ukrainians living and working, giving the promise 'to be everywhere were Ukrainians are'. Th MVNO project is underway and will be commercially launched in Q3 2008. The total 2007 life:) revenue grew by 191% compared to 2006. By the end of 2007, the total number of life:) subscribers reached 8.8 million with 57.1% of growth on annual basis. Tansu has not dealt only with financial results, he changed the corporate culture - modifying the company's mission and vision and establishing corporate values. The year 2007 became a turning point in the history of life:) as it leveraged our business to a totally new level of financial and operational successes and made the market and investors believe in the strong success of our company.
