PACCAR’s continued success emanates from the integrity and dedication of its 20,500 employees worldwide. PACCAR was recognized in 2004 with the International Stevie Award for Best Multinational Company in the first-ever International Business Awards.
As PACCAR’s Chairman, Mr. Pigott’s passion for producing products that are highly customized and well-engineered with exceptionally high standards of quality is reflected in the companies continued success. PACCAR had the best year in its history reporting record revenues and net income for 2004. As PACCAR enters its 100th year, the company continues to build on its impressive record of 66 consecutive years of net profitability and reinforcing its outstanding reputation as one of the leading global technology companies. Mr. Pigott was selected as one of the top ten best-performing CEOs in 2004, receiving an A+ rating by Forbes magazine for CEO pay-versus-performance. Forbes evaluated 194 CEOs who met the qualification criteria of a minimum of six- year tenure as chief executive. The rankings were calculated by company stock performance (including dividends) versus peer companies and relative to the S&P 500 Index. Mark Pigott is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and a Director of PACCAR Inc. He joined PACCAR as an Internal Auditor in 1977, and has held a number of positions with various PACCAR divisions including Peterbilt Motors and Foden Trucks in the U.K. He became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the company January 1, 1997.
Mr. Pigott graduated from Stanford University with a (B.S.) Industrial Engineering, (B.A.) Humanities and (M.S.) Business from Stanford's Sloan Program. He was awarded the OBE (Officer of the British Empire) in 2003.
Mr. Pigott is a member of The Business Council-Washington, D.C., Washington State Roundtable, World Economic Forum-Davos, Switzerland, and an SAE member since 1981, as well as being active in numerous local charitable organizations.
