With 85 executives from around the world attending its January 2003 leadership
summit, Avnet, Inc. not only wanted to communicate what leadership means, but
also energize company leaders during the worst economic downturn in the
electronics industry's history. In just six-and-a-half minutes, this upbeat video set
the tone for the meeting while highlighting nine critical qualities of leadership by
featuring more than 40 world leaders who exemplify them. Seeing a diverse group
of leaders who triumphed in a variety of challenging circumstances was so
motivational and inspirational that Avnet now uses the video in all of its corporate
leadership training.
