The site was first launched in 1995, but Avnet expanded the Investor Relations content and added Press Room and Quality sections in 2003.
When Best Practices in Corporate Communications (BPCC) evaluated more than 500 corporate Web sites on 40 different criteria in 2002, Avnet.com (http://www.avnet.com) ranked No. 3, primarily due to its thorough content. In its “Corporate Web Site Study 2002 Report”, BPCC wrote, “Avnet goes the extra mile by posting detailed information on its Web site and surpasses the standard set by other corporate Web sites.”
The content added in 2003 makes Avnet.com an even better resource – and a strong candidate for a Stevie Award.
