2. Briefly describe this entry’s communications objectives and how it met those objectives (up to 100 words):

To assist a national outreach effort, Social Security developed Electronic Records Express communications support materials that includad audience-oriented pamphlets and a fact sheet, as well as "leave behind" materials with the Electronic Records Express logo and contact information. To date, these materials have been ordered by the thousands by state Disability Determination Services (DDS) and by Social Security field offices. (The DOSs are state government agencies and Social Security can offer, but not mandate, use of the communications materials.) Some DOSs are already on their second and third orders for materials. Since the campaign got underway at a kick-off meeting in Baltimore in August 2006, the percentage of disability records submitted by electronic means has increased more than 30 percent.
