Nomination Title: ATX Communications' New Jersey Sales Team
1. Tell the story about what this nominated team achieved in the past year (up to 500 words). Focus on specific accomplishments, and relate these accomplishments to past performance or industry norms. Be sure to mention obstacles overcome, innovations or discoveries made, and outcomes:
With strong revenue acquisition growth, exceptionally high customer retention, and selection as one of three nationwide finalists for Telecommunications Sales Organization of the Year (2006 Selling Power Sales Excellence Awards), ATX Communications boasts a sales force to be reckoned with. And in 2006 - one of the most profitable and successful years in the company's 21-year history - the professionals that make up ATX's New Jersey region emerged as the best of the best.
ATX is a leader in delivering traditional and "next-gen" voice and data communications, managed network security solutions, and other mission-critical technologies to small and mid-size businesses across the Mid-Atlantic region. Further, thanks to its recent combination with Broadview Networks, the company now extends through New York and New England. In its pre-merger Mid-Atlantic footprint, the company operated under four regions: Philadelphia, where ATX was founded in 1985; Keystone (PA outside of Philadelphia); "Southern" (Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia); and New Jersey - last year's shining star.
In 2006, ATX's NJ team of 16 sales professionals generated nearly three- quarters of a million dollars in new monthly recurring revenue for 2006. This boils down to 12% of the company's sales force producing one-third of its total revenue for the year. Under the leadership of Vice President and Regional Director Bill McFeeley (a 16-year ATX veteran), ATX's NJ team exceeded quota every month of the year, coming in at 119% on average and as high as 151% at their peak. And, ATX maintained 99.09% of customer relationships among upper- tier ($1,000 per month and up) customers representing 76% of the company's total revenue base - customer retention metrics unmatched in the telecommunications industry. Finally, the team ended the year with more than half its sales consultants billing at or above 100% of goal, and it produced the company's number one salesperson of 2006.
Thanks in part to the NJ team's accomplishments, ATX was honored as a finalist for NJBIZ's Business of the Year award, and it won the title of Communications Company of the Year from the New Jersey Technology Council.
Combined with an average customer tenure of greater than four years, the performance of ATX's New Jersey sales team demonstrates a proven ability to earn - and preserve - the trust of thousands of business customers in a volatile and congested marketplace. Notable ATX Garden State customers including the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa, Canon Business Solutions, EP Henry, Blank Rome, Bayada Nurses, and the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) will continue to help drive the success of this regional powerhouse in 2007 and beyond.
