The Creative Services team at John Hancock Funds had a tremendous year. Inspired and challenged by the company’s ambitious sales goals, this team of 25 professionals demonstrated their ability to show creativity in everything they did. This team is responsible for creative, financial publishing, print procurement, literature fulfillment and the in-house document center for John Hancock Funds.
Here are some of the year’s highlights:
In 2006, John Hancock undertook a major rebranding initiative and re-engineered the marketing collateral system. The creative team collaborated with various business units to establish design guidelines that would enable all of John Hancock to leverage the strong brand. With a clear understanding of the refined brand attributes, the creative team went to work crafting a design strategy that positioned John Hancock Funds as a top mutual fund player. The result: John Hancock Funds was awarded best-in-class in seven categories by the Mutual Fund Education Alliance.
In addition to redesigning collateral material, the creative team launched an International Funds campaign, a website campaign, print and multimedia for their 37-city Roadshow, and a successful value-added program. This included “Dream Planner,” “Multigenerational” (Do you mean “Lessons For Life”) and “10 Common IRA Mistakes” kits. The team also launched a successful literature-ordering Web site, managed a profitable document center and supported new products in the Financial Publishing department.
The level of design and effectiveness of the work done by the creative group sets them apart from the competition. John Hancock Funds has proven how an internal creative group can be an integral part of the company’s vision and play a major role in its success.
