Nomination Title: Fieldglass VMS

1. Tell the story about this nominated product or service (up to 525 words). Describe its function, features, benefits, and performance to date:

Global 2000 firms spend anywhere from 10 million to a billion dollars annually on external services rendered by thousands of flexible workers. These workers are both on-site and remote consultants and contractors that span a range of labor categories including IT, financial services, industrial, business services, engineering and healthcare. The lack of a standardized system to manage this high-spend area leads to maverick spending, inconsistent pricing, increased compliance risks and low enterprise-level visibility.

Fieldglass’ Vendor Management System (VMS) technology provides a single platform for buyers, suppliers and workers to collaboratively manage the complete procure-to-pay lifecycle for all external services while enforcing appropriate compliance measures across the company. In addition, Fieldglass’ analytics and benchmarking tools help support decision-making regarding the acquisition and management of flexible labor, which improves overall worker and program performance. Fieldglass’ open platform further increases collaboration across the supply chain by seamlessly integrating with other enterprise systems (cloud & behind-the-firewall).

Fieldglass has 9000+ integration points in production with systems such as Oracle, Workday, SAP, Ariba, Coupa, Lawson and Kronos to help customers better leverage their investments in existing enterprise applications and increase efficiencies. In fact, Fieldglass is integrated to Oracle applications within 37 countries and in 27 currencies. Organizations can enable single sign-on across multiple systems to help drive adoption, or the integration can be set up to sync data such as cost centers, users, and approval chaining across purchasing, accounts payable, identity management, project management, time tracking and invoicing.

In addition to system integrations, built-in communication and social collaboration functionality within the application enables strong partnerships between buyers of flexible labor and the more than 30,000 suppliers who use Fieldglass. Social enterprise tools offer immediate access to tribal knowledge, provide instantaneous peer-to-peer assistance and ease the burdens for everyone associated with procuring and managing human capital, including hiring managers, the program office, suppliers and workers. These tools empower users to do their jobs better, faster and with improved knowledge regardless of geography or other communication barriers.

Fieldglass was the first VMS to offer these types of social tools. Customers typically experience cost savings of approximately 8-10% of spend managed, increased program efficiencies, e.g. reduced cycle times of 30-40%, and enforced adherence to local and national compliance laws and internal corporate regulations. This automated approach to workforce management also improves the quality of the workers themselves by providing a way for hiring managers to compare and contrast labor talent pools.

In 2014, Fieldglass was the top-ranked vendor in The Forrester Wave™: VMS, Q1 2014 for product capabilities, Return On Investment (ROI), reporting and market presence. Fieldglass was also recognized in Staffing Industry Analysts’ most recent VMS and MSP Supplier Competitive Landscape for its significant global presence and innovative capabilities.

For the fifth consecutive year, Fieldglass ranked highest in total spend under management, with $27.4 billion in 2012.
