Jahangir Mohammed is the Founder and CEO of Jasper, the pioneer in cloud-based software platforms for the Internet of Things (IoT). Jahangir’s visionary leadership dates back to 2004, when he first envisioned a world of connected things through which new services could be delivered. He secured venture funding from Sequoia Capital and Benchmark Capital to develop a solution based on the then revolutionary idea that mobile networks could be used to connect not just people, but things as well. He spent the next decade building a company and a solution that today enables over 1500 businesses to capitalize on IoT.

Just as Jahangir foresaw, today companies across industries and around the globe are embedding connectivity into their devices and delivering an astounding array of new services that are transforming how businesses operate and interact with their customers. Experts predict that there will be 50 billion connected things worldwide within the next ten years.

Jahangir recognized the opportunity to extend the digital world into the physical world (the value proposition behind IoT) years before the term IoT existed. He anticipated its pain points and founded Jasper to address the needs of enterprises looking to build connected service businesses. The Jasper Platform has quietly made the company the undisputed leader in the Service IT category. Service IT is the software and systems required to launch, manage and monetize a successful IoT business.

Under Jahangir’s leadership, Jasper experienced 100% revenue growth year over year in 2012 and 2013. In 2014, Jahangir was selected to deliver a keynote speech on The IoT Revolution at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. And since January of 2013, Jahangir is credited with adding innovative industry leaders including ABB, Garmin, Vivint, GE Aviation and GM to the roster of global brands who manage millions of connected devices on the Jasper Platform. In February of 2014, Jasper announced that several of the world’s leading automotive OEMs have deployed on the Jasper Connected Car Cloud, the only IoT platform purpose-built for connected vehicle businesses.

Since January of 2013, with the addition of major players like EE and Telenor, the number of mobile operator groups partnered with Jasper has increased to 21, representing over 100 network affiliates worldwide. During that time, Jasper has also received two major awards, Global Mobile 2013 Award for Best Cloud Based Technology for Mobile and the Telecoms.com Industry Award for M2M/IoT.

In April 2014, Jahangir was at the helm when Jasper announced that it had raised $50 million in growth financing at a valuation of $1.4 billion. This series F round, led by Temasek, will enable the company to serve the surging demand from global enterprises and mobile operators for its IoT platform.

Before IoT became a buzzword, Jahangir Mohammed, Jasper founder and CEO, pioneered a vision to connect things using the power of the mobile network. Over the past decade, Jahangir has grown Jasper into the only billion-dollar IoT company in the market, delivering a global, cloud-based platform that enables businesses to launch, manage and monetize successful IoT initiatives. A 2015 World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer, Jahangir started his career at Bell Labs, developing a passion for building teams and customer success.

In 2001 Jahangir founded Kineto Wireless, where he invented technologies to converge GSM and Wi-Fi that became GSMA standard. Jahangir holds 12 U.S. patents for inventions related to connecting devices wirelessly, a BSEE from CIT in India and an MSEE from Canada’s Concordia University.
