Nomination Title: ExtraHop Networks: A Company that Stays Ahead of the Curve

Tell the story about what this nominated organization achieved since January 1 2012 (up to 525 words). Focus on specific accomplishments, and relate these accomplishments to past performance or industry norms. Be sure to mention obstacles overcome, innovations or discoveries made, and outcomes:

As the number of applications, complexity of systems, and volume of data continue to grow, it’s imperative for IT teams to have full operational intelligence to keep these applications and systems healthy. That’s the only way to guarantee each application is adding to a company’s success, not taking away from it. But, in these increasingly complex environments, how can accurate, real-time application performance monitoring (APM) be performed effectively and efficiently?

That’s where ExtraHop Networks comes in. The ExtraHop IT operational intelligence platform provides an agentless, network-based solution that is continually adapting to changes in dynamic environments.

In 2012, ExtraHop Networks was recognized with two ABA Finalist Awards for its groundbreaking Application Inspection Triggers technology, and its innovation streak has only strengthened since, helping ExtraHop achieve in 2012:

• 250+ percent increase in total new sales.
• 60+ percent increase in total customers.
• 50+ percent uptick in partnership base.

Take, for example, ExtraHop’s policy-based precision packet capture solution, announced in November 2012. Historically, finding a problem in a large packet capture was like looking for a snowflake in an avalanche. ExtraHop’s innovation, however, saves IT teams time and money by revolutionizing the entire packet capture process. Rather than forcing teams to conduct wait-and-see operations or spend thousands on storage, the ExtraHop platform analyzes traffic in real-time and records the specific packets in an application flow. This capability is made possible by ExtraHop’s full-stream reassembly, performed in real-time at up to a sustained 20Gbps.

IT managers can also use ExtraHop’s Application Inspection Triggers technology to define specific events that will trigger a precise packet capture. This policy-based, precision packet capture capability equips IT teams with the exact information they need to track compliance, troubleshoot a performance issue, or investigate a security issue.

These aren’t the only innovations ExtraHop introduced over the past year, either. In 2012 and 2013, ExtraHop:

• Partnered with Reflex Systems to automate IT for virtual data centers and cloud infrastructure
• Offered the first and only web payload analytics for an agentless application that supports all major API methods and architectures.
• Added dynamic geomaps, flex grids, and summary-level dashboards to the ExtraHop platform, which combine to make the best contextual visualization for APM.
• Introduced performance monitoring for healthcare IT applications such as EMR and PACs.
• Introduced the first agentless application and infrastructure monitoring solution for Microsoft Hyper-V
• Introduced the first agentless solution verified as Citrix Ready® for Citrix XenDesktop®, Citrix XenApp™, and Citrix NetScaler® for Citrix VDI monitoring.

ExtraHop has continually delivered new and exciting product developments over the past year that have built the ExtraHop platform into the most efficient and effective APM solution out there.

The uniqueness and power of ExtraHop’s innovations are summed up by John Smith, Netscaler/Citrix Architect at a major healthcare information technology company, and one of 46 official wordwide Citrix Technology Professional Awardees:

“ExtraHop is a great APM tool but it is also a great network monitoring tool and has value to every branch of my IT department. This is not a product whose value can be judged by finding its bubble in a scatter plot. I have not even scratched the surface of what this product can do.”
