Nomination Title: SiBEAM, Inc’s WirelessHD® Semiconductor Solutions

Tell the story about this nominated product or service (up to 500 words). Describe its function, features, benefits, and sales to date. You may include hyperlinks to product photos and data sheets. IMPORTANT: Begin each link with http://, and enclose each link in square brackets; for example, []:

Imagine the day consumers have the highest quality HDTV in their living rooms,
free of unsightly cords, high-definition content streaming wirelessly.  No
cables, just one universal remote, and the quality guarantee from the names
consumers trust, like LGE, Toshiba, and Panasonic.

Today is the day imagination becomes reality.  Founded in 2004, SiBEAM is a
pioneer in semiconductor solutions, providing the HD quality today’s finicky
consumers demand wirelessly.  SiBEAM’s groundbreaking SB9120/SB9110 WirelessHD™
HRTX Transmit and SB9121/SB9111 WirelessHD HRRX Receiver chipsets with
OmniLink60™ technology take consumers beyond the standard HD experience. They
allow the simple and swift wireless transfer of movies, TV shows, and personal
media between gadgets like Blu-ray players and HDTVs.  SiBEAM uses 60GHz
technology, delivering the fastest data transfer in the business at wireless
data rates of 4Gbps, without degradation in quality or interruption of content.

At the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show, SiBEAM announced the availability of its
WirelessHD chipsets.  One year later, wireless communication of HD content came
to fruition at CES 2009, where SiBEAM announced its chipsets entered volume
production and are featured in flagship products from leading CE manufacturers
including LG, Panasonic, Toshiba and Gefen.
*              Panasonic showcased their VIERA Z1 54-inch Plasma HDTV.*storeId=11301&catalogId=13251&itemId=322752&modelNo=Content01072009012646554&surfModel=Content01072009012646554
*              LG announced their lines of LHX LCD and LH-85 LCD televisions featuring a
separate media box that streams the highest quality HD content from various
sources wirelessly to the display.
*              Gefen’s Wireless for HDMI 60Ghz Extender delivers HDMI at 1080p full HD,
sending uncompressed video from a source to the display wirelessly.*news_item_id=139
*              Toshiba highlighted their REGZA LINK (HDMI-CEC) adapter based on SiBEAM
technology, allowing the transfer of lossless, uncompressed HD A/V and data
between devices.

What else sets SiBEAM apart from the rest of the wireless pack*
*              Interference free. SiBEAM’s chips transfer wireless data even when someone
stands in front of the receiver, promising fast transfers even in a crowded room.
*              Lightning Speeds.  SiBEAM’s WirelessHD solutions provide 4Gbps actual data
rates, over ten times faster than any of today’s wireless technologies.
*              Lowest cost. SiBEAM was the first to produce 60GHz chipsets using a
cost-effective manufacturing technique called CMOS, helping CE and PC
manufacturers achieve mass market pricing for their systems.
*              Security. Due to the nature of 60GHz, SiBEAM’s chipsets are optimized for
in-room vs. multiple room wireless transmission ensuring personal media is kept
within consumers’ homes, away from neighbors and strangers.
*              Partners. SiBEAM is a founding member of the WirelessHD Consortium, which
includes Broadcom, Intel, LGE, NEC, Panasonic, Philips Samsung, Sony and Toshiba
as charter members. WirelessHD is devoted to creating a global wireless standard
for home multimedia, revolutionizing the compatibility between wireless consumer
electronic devices.

SiBEAM’s technology changes the way consumers experience entertainment by
simplifying the digital living room, enhancing the quality and simple
installation of the home entertainment experience.

The future of SiBEAM’s 60GHz technology lies in a variety of electronic devices
– from laptops to smartphones, docking stations to cars – for cutting edge
wireless and personal area networking.
