With over 7 million users worldwide, SnagIt http://www.techsmith.com/screen-capture.asp is the industry leader in screen capture software. SnagIt is a visual communications tool that simplifies taking a picture of what you see on your computer screen, editing it, and sharing it. Whether you are capturing an image for software training or technical support, or visually communicating what you’re seeing during your travels on the World Wide Web for a blog or presentation, SnagIt makes capturing, editing and sharing screen text, images, and even video easy.
SnagIt was first introduced by TechSmith in 1991. SnagIt 9.0 represented a major overhaul of a software product that users, including software designers and IT, educators, designers, law enforcement, professional communicators, and many others, consider a vital tool in their communications tool boxes. Major changes in the product were implemented to add richer image editing capability and to make the workflow easier and more intuitive

Significant changes were made to the user interface, introducing a ribbon design that brought many functions that were previously more difficult to find to the surface so they could be used with one click of the mouse. Prior to the redesign, users were utilizing only about 2 percent of the software’s features. The goal of the new menu format was the make it more intuitive for users to find the things they need to create the best images possible.
Probably the most significant change was to the way the software handles multiple capture projects. Prior to SnagIt 9.0, users could only work on one project at a time in the program. SnagIt 9.0 made it possible to capture and edit multiple projects at once. Additionally, users no longer have to recapture images they didn’t edit perfectly the first time around. SnagIt 9.0 introduced an Open Captures Tray in the product, which is a ribbon along the screen bottom, that allows you to jump from one open image to another and to interact with images at any time for editing, saving in a new file-type, and exporting.
SnagIt 9.0 was launched on June 10, 2008. Since its release it has generated over $9 million in sales.
