LG launched its first touch screen mobile phone into AT&T, and wanted to mark this milestone with a launch kit that captured the essence and features of the phone: touch screen, sleek design and advanced technological features that related directly to the techno “must have” lifestyle target. SMS exceeded all these objectives by designing a kit that visually and sensorially highlighted the main feature of the phone, the touch screen. The kit was coated with a thermo ink that was heat sensitive so when “touched” would reveal all the techno features of the product. Additionally, the kit contained a sleek and modern gift, pin art, that when “touched” would reveal the object that was implanted in the piece. Further prior to kit distribution, the gift was indented with the name of the phone to provide even more product recall to drive awareness and purchase.
